RIDA®QUICK Soya

Intended use:

RIDA®QUICK Soya can be used as a swab test for the soya determination on surfaces in the hygiene control and for the qualitative detection of soya in raw material and processed food. The test has been developed for the detection of low amounts of soya (contamination).

For the sample preparation, RIDA QUICK Soya accessory pack (Z7103) is recommended.

For the sample preparation from foods, the Soya extraction (R7113) should be used.

RIDASCREEN®FAST Soya

Intended use:

RIDASCREEN®FAST Soya (Art. No. R7102) is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of native and processed soya proteins in food. Such products are beverages and food as sausages, dressings, bakery products, ice, chocolate, soup, sauce, margarine, etc.

General Information:

Soya proteins can be present as an ingredient or as a contamination in raw and processed products. Several soya proteins can cause allergic reactions. According to the EU Directive 2003/89/EG from November 10th 2003, soya and products thereof must be declared on food labels. Similar regulations exist e.g. in the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Soybeans (mature seeds, raw) contain approx. 35 % proteins. Soya proteins have a similar amino acid composition as proteins from animal sources and have a high percentage of essential amino acids. Therefore, soya is one of the few plants which are considered as a valuable source of proteins. Thus, soya is widely used as substitute for proteins from animal sources (e.g. in tofu, soya milk or soya yoghurt). Besides the high protein content, soya beans are also rich in fat (approx. 20 %) and are used for the productions of oils and fats.
The usage of soya as food and feed has strongly increased in the last decades, leading to an increase in allergic reactions as well.

ELISA- Accessories

Intended use:

The processed assay controls are used to control the extraction, the test implementation and the handling of the RIDASCREEN®FAST Soya (R7102).

Comment:

The Set of 3 processed assay controls is composed of homogenized cookies with a defined content of soya.

The soya assay controls are not a reference material. For validation of the RIDASCREEN®FAST Soya kit, spiked samples should be used.

General Information:

Each assay control contains 2 g homogenized processed cookies

Gliadin Assay Control A (negative): soya-free cookie
Gliadin Assay Control B & C (positives): different concentrations of soya-free and a
soya-containing cookie were mixed.
