Aminoglycosides

All the Aminoglycosides (streptomycin, gentamicin, neomycin) are potentially toxic compounds causing significant damage in vestibular and auditory functions in humans as well as in animals.

RIDASCREEN® Streptomycin

Art. No.: R3104

Intended use:

RIDASCREEN® Streptomycin (Art. No.: R3104) is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of stretomycin in milk and milk powder, honey, meat, liver, kidney, shrimp and apple juice.

General information:

Next to the β-lactam antibiotics in veterinary medicine streptomycin is one of the mostly used antibiotics for the treatment of mastitis. Residues of streptomycin may therefore occur in food of animal origin, if the withholding period is not obeyed or if it is used improperly. High concentrations of streptomycin show ototoxic and nephrotoxic effects. The chronic exposure of humans with low concentrations, as found in food, may cause allergies, impair the intestinal flora and induce resistance of pathogenic microorganisms. To protect the consumer against health risks and avoid food-technological problems, a sensitive and simple method for the detection of streptomycin is necessary. The EU regulations for streptomycin are fixed in MRLs (maximum residue limits) for meat and milk (muscle and liver: 500 μg/kg, kidney: 1000 μg/kg and milk: 200 μg/l). In honey, the EU Community Reference Laboratories have determined a zero-tolerance with a minimum required performance limit of ccβ = 40 μg/kg for test systems.

EuroProxima Gentamycin

Art. No.: 5111GEN

Intended use:

A competitive enzyme immunoassay for screening and quantitative analysis of Gentamicin in various matrices.

General information:

Gentamicin belongs to a group of carbohydrate containing antibiotics called aminoglycosides. All the aminoglycosides are potentially toxic compounds causing significant damage in vestibular and auditory functions in humans as well as in animals. Within the EU, MRLs have been established for gentamicin residues in bovine milk (100 ppb), bovine/porcine muscle (50 ppb), fat (50 ppb), liver (200 ppb) and kidney (750 ppb). In combination with the streptomycin and neomycin ELISA we offer a unique panel for the detection of these three aminoglycosides in a range of matrices.

The Gentamicin ELISA is a competitive enzyme immunoassay based on antibodies directed against protein conjugated gentamicin.

Specifications
Art. No. 5111GEN
Test format Microtiter plate, 96 wells.
Sample preparation For milk, serum, tissue, feed, egg, urine and honey fast and efficient extraction methods are included in the kit manual.
Incubation time 90 minutes
Detection limit Milk, serum 2 ppb
Tissue, feed 10 ppb
Egg 1 ppb
Urine 4 ppb
Honey 2.5 ppb

EuroProxima Neomycin

Art. No.: 5111NEO

Intended use:

A competitive enzyme immunoassay for screening and quantitative analysis of neomycin in milk, milk powder, tissue, honey, serum/plasma and urine samples.

General information:

Neomycin belongs to a group of broad spectrum antibiotics called aminoglycosides. These antibiotics are mainly used to treat infections caused by Gram negative bacteria in human and animals. All aminoglycosides are potentially toxic compounds and therefore maximum residue limits (MRLs) have been set by the European Union. In combination with the streptomycin and gentamicin ELISA EuroProxima offers a unique panel for the detection of these three aminoglycosides in a range of matrices.

The Neomycin ELISA is a competitive enzyme immunoassay based on antibodies directed against neomycin.
