T-2 Toxin / HT-2 toxin

General information on T2-toxin and HT-2 toxin

T-2 and HT-2 toxin belong to the trichothecene group of mycotoxins and are formed by fungi of the genus Fusarium. T-2 and HT-2 toxin are often found in agricultural commodities, although the incidence and the concentrations found show a broad regional variation. Due to their high cytotoxic and immunosuppressive mode of action T-2 / HT-2 toxins are a threat for human and animal health.

T-2 toxin / HT-2 toxin testsystems from R-Biopharm

We offer different analytical platforms for the analysis of T-2 toxin and for T-2 plus HT-2 toxin as well as standards andreference materials.

EASI-EXTRACT® T-2 & HT-2

Intended use:

Immunoaffinity columns for use in conjunction with an HPLC system for detection of T-2 and HT-2 in a wide range of commodities.

General Information:

The procedure is based on monoclonal antibody technology, which makes the test highly specific, sensitive, rapid and simple to perform. Improved clean-up and concentration of toxins from complex food matrices results in reduced chromatography interference and lower detection limits.

Specifications
Art. No. P43 / P43B
Test Format 10 wide format immunoaffinity columns (P43).
50 wide format immunoaffinity columns (P43B).
Sample Preparation The columns contain a gel suspension of monoclonal antibody specific to the toxins of interest.
Following extraction of the toxins the sample extract is filtered, diluted and passed through the immunoaffinity column. Any toxins which are present in the sample are retained by the antibody within the gel suspension. The column is washed to remove unbound material and the toxins are then released by the antibody following elution with solvent. The eluate is collected and derivatised prior to analysis by HPLC.
Detection Limit LOD: T-2: 0.05 ng/ml
HT-2: 0.05 ng/ml
Shelf life 18 months at 2 – 8 °C (or 12 months at 21 – 25 °C).
Sensitivity Low % CV, excellent recoveries and limit of detection complies with EU Legislation.
Rapid Clean up in 20 minutes prior to detection by HPLC.
Robust Can be stored at room temperature.
Reliable Uses a monoclonal antibody to selectively isolate and concentrate T-2 and HT-2.
Adaptable The columns are suitable for testing a wide range of commodities.
