Multi-Toxins

General information on multi mycotoxin testing

Mycotoxins generally co-occur in different commodities. It is not unusual to find different trichothecenes in one product, sometimes even in combination with zearalenone. Other commodities might contain both aflatoxin and ochratoxin or aflatoxin and fumonisin.

With the development of multi mycotoxin anayltical methods on HPLC or LC-MS/MS the need for an effective multi mycotoxin clean-up arose.

Multi mycotoxin testsystems from R-Biopharm

We offer different analytical platforms for the analysis of multiple mycotoxins as well as standards and reference materials.

AO ZON PREP®

Intended use:

Multi-mycotoxin immunoaffinity columns for simultaneous detection of aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, G2, ochratoxin A and zearalenone in a wide range of commodities in conjunction with HPLC or LC-MS/MS.

General Information:

The procedure is based on monoclonal antibody technology, which makes the test highly specific, sensitive, rapid and simple to perform. Improved clean-up and concentration of toxins from complex food matrices results in reduced chromatography interference and lower detection limits.

Specifications
Art. No. P112 / P112B
Test Format 10 wide format immunoaffinity columns (P112).
50 wide format immunoaffinity columns (P112B).
Sample Preparation The columns contain a gel suspension of monoclonal antibody specific to the toxins of interest. Following extraction of the toxins the sample extract is filtered, diluted and passed through the immunoaffinity column. Any toxins which are present in the sample are retained by the antibody within the gel suspension. The column is washed to remove unbound material and the toxins are released from the antibody following elution with solvent. The eluate is collected and injected prior to analysis by HPLC.
Detection Limit LOD: B1 – 0.031 ng/ml
B2 – 0.015 ng/ml
G1 – 0.015 ng/ml
G2 – 0.007 ng/ml
OTA – 0.05 ng/ml
ZON – 1.67 ng/ml
Cross Reactivity Ochratoxin B (OTB), α-Zearalenol (α-ZOL), ß-Zearalenol (ß-ZOL), Zearalanone (ZAN), α-Zearalanol (α-ZAL) and Zeranol.
Shelf life 2 years at 2 – 8 °C (or 12 months at 21 – 25 °C).
Sensitivity Low % CV, excellent recoveries, capacity and limit of detection exceeds EU Legislation and CEN / AOAC requirements.
Rapid Only one extraction and a single column clean up required taking as little as 20 minutes prior to detection by HPLC. Simultaneous detection of total aflatoxins and ochratoxin A in one HPLC run while zearalenone is detected in a second HPLC run. Analysis of all toxins can be performed in a single LC-MS/MS run.
Robust Can be stored at room temperature.
Reliable Uses monoclonal antibodies to selectively isolate and concentrate aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, G2 , ochratoxin A and zearalenone.
Adaptable The columns are suitable for testing a wide range of commodities.
Extraction solvents Methanol or acetonitrile.
Additional Information Cost Effective: No need for separate extractions and clean-up, saving time and money.
