Description
Intended use:
EuroProxima Carazolol is a competitive enzyme immunoassay for screening and quantitative analysis of carazolol in various matrices.
General Information:
It is a common practice for farmers to use a tranquilliser or β-blocker such as carazolol to prevent stress of pigs f. e. during transportation. It is a nonspecific β-adrenergic blocking agent that is used especially in pigs; a less widespread use is in the prevention of reproductive stress in dairy cows. In the EU, maximum residue limits (MRLs) have been established for both pigs and cattle. The compound is listed in Annex I of Council Regulation (EEC) No. 2377/90. The marker residue is the parent substance.
The EuroProxima Carazolol ELISA is a competitive enzyme immunoassay based on antibodies directed against carazolol.
