Mustard

Lateral Flow Senf / Mustard

Intended use:

The Lateral Flow Mustard assay is a qualitative detection assay of Mustard residues in surface samples got from e.g. production lines. The assay is also applicable for food samples. The assay is applied for the detection of small amounts of Mustard contaminations.

General Information:

Mustard contaminations in food possibly elicit hypersensitivity in sensitive persons. Food production lines have to be free of residues to prevent these allergic reactions. The effectiveness of cleaning can be verified by using the Lateral Flow Mustard Swabbing method.

RIDASCREEN®FAST Senf / Mustard

Intended use:

RIDASCREEN®FAST Senf/Mustard is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of mustard in spices, meat and sausages, oils, mayonnaise and other food.

General Information:

Mustard is a popular spice that contains mustard oil, glycosides and more than 20 % proteins. These proteins can trigger allergies and must therefore be declared in many countries. Mustard allergens are in most cases heat resistant and relatively stable against an enzymatic treatment. Mustard can be present in many foods due to a cross contamination in the production process (especially if spices have been used in the product).

Specifications
Art. No. R6152
Test Format Microtiter plate with 48 wells (6 strips with 8 removable wells each)
Standard Range 0 ppm (zero standard), 0.5 ppm, 1.5 ppm, 4.5 ppm, 13.5 ppm mustard powder
Incubation Time 30 min
Detection Limit 0.1 mg/kg (ppm) mustard powder (0.08 – 0.11 depending on the matrix)
Limit of quantification: 0.5 ppm mustard powder
Cross Reactivity The antibodies used in the test specifically detect all kinds of mustard (yellow, white, brown, black mustard). Cross reactivity to rapeseed (67%) and other seeds of brassicaceae.

SureFood® ALLERGEN Mustard – NEW

Intended use:

The test detects DNA of brown (Indian), yellow and black mustard according to directive (EC) 1169/2011 qualitatively and / or quantitatively. Each reaction contains an internal amplification control.

For the quantitative determination the use of the laboratory reference material SureFood® QUANTARD Allergen 40 containing 40 mg mustard / kg food sample and a detection system including a standard dilution is required.

For DNA preparation, the use of SureFood® PREP Advanced, protocol 1, is recommended.

General Information:

The real-time PCR assay can be used with established real-time PCR instruments capable of detection of at least two fluorescence dyes. Internal validation was performed on Roche LightCycler® 2.0, Roche LightCycler® 480 II, Roche cobas® z 480 Analyzer, Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q, Applied Biosystems 7500, Bio-Rad CFX96, Bio Molecular Systems MIC, LTF MyGo Pro, AriaDx and Agilent Mx3005P.
