Hazelnut
Lateral Flow Hazelnut
Intended use:
The Lateral Flow Hazelnut assay is a qualitative detection assay of Hazelnut residues in surface samples got from e.g. production lines. The assay is also applicable for food samples. The assay is applied for the detection of small amounts of Hazelnut contaminations.
General Information:
Hazelnut contaminations in food possibly elicit hypersensitivity in sensitive persons. Food production lines have to be free of residues to prevent these allergic reactions. The effectiveness of cleaning can be verified by using the Lateral Flow Hazelnut Swabbing method.

RIDASCREEN® FAST Hazelnut
Intended use:
RIDASCREEN®FAST Hazelnut is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for the quantitative analysis of hazelnut and pieces of hazelnut in food such as cereals, baked goods, ice cream and chocolate.
The ELISA has been validated for dark chocolate by the German BVL (§64 method LMBG). The RIDASCREEN®FAST Hazelnut test is calibrated to the chocolate samples used in the German ring trial.
The published DIN CEN/TS 15633-2:2013 characterizes the ELISA method for the detection of hazelnut in food. The RIDASCREEN®FAST Hazelnut (R6802) by R-Biopharm fulfills the requirements of this DIN standard.
General Information:
Hazelnut can be present as an ingredient or as a contamination in raw and cooked products. According to the EU Directive 2007/68/EG from 27th November 2007, hazelnut must be declared on food labels as it can induce allergic reactions.
Art. No. | R6802 |
---|---|
Test Format | Microtiter plate with 48 wells (6 strips with 8 removable wells each) |
Standard Range | 0 ppm (zero standard), 2.5 ppm, 5 ppm, 10 ppm, 20 ppm hazelnut |
Sample Preparation | homogenization, extraction and centrifugation |
Incubation Time | 30 min |
Detection Limit | 0.19 mg/kg (ppm) hazelnut corresponding to 0.00015 % hazelnut (0.17 – 0.22 depending on the matrix) |
Cross Reactivity | sun flower seeds: ≤ 0.07%linseeds (ground), almonds: not detectableThe detection depends on the degree of roasting. Highly roasted hazelnuts are recovered with approx. 80 %. The hazelnut extract used as a standard in this assay contains approx. 9 % protein. |
SureFood® ALLERGEN Hazelnut- NEW
Intended use:
The test detects hazelnut DNA according to directive (EC) 1169/2011 qualitatively and / or quantitatively. Each reaction contains an internal amplification control.
For the quantitative determination the use of the laboratory reference materialSureFood® QUANTARD Allergen 40 containing 40 mg hazelnut / kg food sample and a detection system including a standard dilution is required.
For DNA preparation, the use of SureFood® PREP Advanced, protocol 1, is recommended.
General Information:
The real-time PCR assay can be used with established real-time PCR instruments capable of detection of at least two fluorescence dyes. Internal validation was performed on Roche LightCycler® 2.0, Roche LightCycler® 480 II, Roche cobas® z 480 Analyzer, Qiagen Rotor-Gene Q, Applied Biosystems 7500, Bio-Rad CFX96, Bio Molecular Systems MIC, LTF MyGo Pro, AriaDx and Agilent.
